Martin is a desperate hitchhiker who just wants a ride. A car pulls over but the dirver won't help until she is sure Martin is completely "safe." With outstanding performances from Aleks Paunovic and Gina Chiarelli, and featureing the music of Blue Rodeo, two worlds collide in this story about what it means to help someone out.

Aleks has just booked the supporting lead in the new Ashton Kutcher, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathy Bates movie called PERSONAL EFFECTS.
 

Movie Synopsis: Seeking vengeance for the murder of his sister, a young man arrives in town only to be sidetracked by a beautiful older woman with wounds very similar to his own. Through this bond, an unlikely and beautiful romance blooms. How do you heal a wound the world can’t see? With love.

Movie Synopsis: The story of two strangers, Linda (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Walter (Ashton Kutcher), who have both lost family members to murder. Their respective court cases bring them together.

Linda has a deaf son, who’s become increasingly troubled since his dad was murdered, but it’s Walter who helps him out – teaching him how to wrestle, and therefore funnelling his anger through sport.

Aleks will play Tom Friedinger, a man who falls in love with Ashton's sister who ends up being brutally murdered. As Tom is the last person to have seen her alive, he is sent to jail and then goes on trial for her murder.

Personal Effects is based upon the short story "Mansion on the Hill," found in the collection "Demonology" by Rick Moody.

Personal Effects begins shooting on November 26 in Vancouver.

Aleks will be co-starring in the upcoming movie BLOOD: A BUTCHER'S TALE

Movie Synopsis: The harrowing tale of Sam, a simple butcher who discovers that the love of his life is being seduced by a vampire. As he investigates further, he realizes that his destiny is to become the destroyer of this blood thirsty race. Sam begins a killing spree with the slaughter of his beloved fiancé, then her blood addicted lover. Sam then makes it his duty to systematically destroy the remainder of the clan, until he hesitates on killing Lily, the last of her race. Helplessly he falls in love with Lily and learns to respect her desires as normal. Eventually Sam must decide if he is willing to repopulate the planet with the exact race he set out to destroy.
