Movie Synopsis: A day in the
life of a morally conflicted drug dealer as he
schools his younger brother on the inns and outs of
the dangerous cocaine trade.
Tyson, a late 20’s crack dealer
has one foot out the door and looks forward to
leaving the drug game for greener pastures as the
impending birth of his child has awakened his
suppressed inner consciousnesses. Before he can move
on however he must train a new protégé to take over
his dial-a-dope line. This protégé just happens to
be Tyson’s younger brother Ritchie; a mid 20’s
carefree, womanizing, party animal who holds a
romanticized view of what a drug dealer should be.
It is Tyson’s job on this day to verse Ritchie in
all things cocaine to ensure a smooth transition and
a safe existence for Ritchie in his new trade.
As Tyson plays mentor and teacher
to Ritchie the viewer rides ‘shot gun’ all the while
getting a rare and often raw glimpse of this highs
stakes business and culture. Along the way the
extreme cross-section of Tyson’s clientele, with
everything from slick dressed stock brokers to
panhandling vagabonds, provides an outrageous,
sometimes hilarious, and always heartbreaking
backdrop to this tale of moral confliction, loyalty,
jealousy, betrayal and ultimate tragedy.
